![]() I think the change in audience affected the writing style and the content. It could possibly be considered new adult (Sunshine is mid-twenties, I believe), or even adult. ![]() Specifically, Sunshine isn’t really a YA book (I know, I cheated a little). However, Sunshine is a little different from the other books of hers I have read. She has really great world-building, and I have enjoyed everything of hers I’ve read. I own several that I still need to read, because I basically buy any used Robin McKinley books I find. Not everything, but I have read Beauty, The Blue Sword, and a couple others. I have read some from Robin McKinley before. But Sunshine isn’t as normal as she thought, and she’s definitely not like most people. Until one night, Sunshine decides to drive out to the lake, and her life changes forever. ![]() ![]() Sunshine makes cinnamon rolls by very early day and reads stories about Others by night. Not that Sunshine has any actual contact with the Others she is entirely too normal. Sunshine has always been fascinated by the Others, even the darkest of them, the vampires. ![]()
